First Canadian Centre (acquired by GWL) offers one of the City’s most timeless architectural sites in the City. Completed in approximately 1980 the common area interiors are still an inspiring, visual event. Our design challenge throughout the lobby and adjoining areas was to enhance the experience of the space. By creating exciting new floor scapes and captivating with special gathering areas, the luminous quality of the lobby could be visually explored and enjoyed from a new perspective. Our solution also respected and complimented the existing architectural elements. As we saw it the existing the interior envelope demanded and received a bold yet honed compliment in the new interior elements.
